Chief Mate – Commercial Fishing
We are a commercial fishing company looking for a Chief mate for a 27m Mid Water Trawler for the upcoming fishing season. We fish in the coastal waters of B.C. off the west coast of Vancouver Island based in Ucluelet.
This is a full-time position offering competitive wages, with a benefits package available.
The ideal candidate Certification:
- Fishing Master 4 or higher, or a 150 Ton Mate certificate or higher
- ROC-MC
- Pass a Transport Canada marine medical
- Standard first aid
- Commercial Fisher’s Registration Card
Requirements:
- Standing watch
- Be able to communicate effectively with Captain and Crew Hauling and setting net
- Work as a team with other crew members
- Having commercial fishing or Trawl experience is an asset, but not required
